Prior to establishing the Balmain Group in 2003, James held various senior positions with Westfield over a ten-year career, culminating in establishing their European shopping centre business in London in 1998. James has been directly involved with 2.7 million sqm and EUR 10.5 billion of shopping centre assets over his thirty-one year career in real estate. James leads the strategy and investments for the Balmain Group.
Paul has thirty-seven years’ experience in retail property leasing, asset management and development initially in the UK with firms such as Knight Frank, Shearer Harris and Lambert Smith Hampton. Paul’s retailer contacts and direct leasing experience are extensive. He has been personally involved in leasing over sixty shopping centres. Paul joined Balmain Asset Management in April 2004 and has a wealth of market knowledge and contacts in the Central European market. Paul was the founder of the UK Shop Agents Society; he is founder and chairman of a charity for disabled children, the Elifar Foundation (www.elifarfoundation.org.uk) and is a fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, Manufacture and Industry.
Tim has 32 years property and asset management experience. His career started at Donaldson’s. In 2000 he joined MEPC and then specialist retail developer Thornfield. Tim has considerable experience in retail leasing and shopping centre asset management. Tim joined Balmain Asset Management in 2005 and oversees Property Management, Management Accounts and Project and Technical Services
Jonathan is the finance director for the Balmain Group, responsible for the overall financial reporting and control as well as corporate legal and tax related matters. Jonathan has over thirty two years’ experience in the property industry. Having originally joined Balmain Asset Management in 2005 from Westfield, Jonathan has a wealth of experience in property / portfolio acquisitions and disposals across a range of platforms and jurisdictions and has been involved in debt refinancing, restructuring as well as development finance. He has also established operational and corporate finance teams from inception including creation and implementation of financial process and procedures both with Balmain and previous employments.
Aleksandra has extensive experience in working with all sectors of the real estate market, including retail, office, industrial and residential. She has participated in numerous transactions on the capital markets, including real estate sales and acquisitions as well as fundraising projects. As a manager of Rockspring PIM (currently Patrizia AG) and Goldman Sachs International in London, she was involved in commercial and residential real estate transactions worth EUR 1.4 billion. As the CEO of Ciech R&D, a company from Kulczyk Investments portfolio, she was responsible for the implementation of the company's innovation strategy and the development of the company's scientific research in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. Aleksandra is a member of the supervisory boards of several companies, including the management board of Galardia Sp. z o.o., and Stage Capital. She is a graduate of the University of Cambridge in real estate management and finance. Since 2014, she has been a mentor at Cambridge REF Mentoring, supporting young, talented graduates in developing their career path.
Agata Stańkowska is a manager with many years of experience specializing in commercialization, formatting and creating long-term rental strategies implemented in shopping malls, retail parks and logistics centers. For over 15 years of professional experience, she has dealt with, among others, commercialization of commercial, office as well as warehouse facilities owned by AIG Lincoln. In Balmain Group Agata heads the CEE leasing team staying closely involved with the leasing of each new and current project in company Retail Portfolio.
Ewa has been involved in finance since the beginning of her professional career, with most of her experience in the real estate sector. She joined Balmain Group in 2017. She is responsible for all financial matters related to the managed properties including budgeting, financial settlements with tenants, accounting and tax policies as well as cooperation with banks. Ewa manages the reporting and accounting team. Previously, she gained experience at Qatar Airways as Finance Manager for Poland, she was responsible for the financial aspects of two Qatar Airways branches in Poland: the Warsaw office and the European Contact Centre in Wrocław, establishing financial structures and procedures from scratch. She also worked at the Danish development company TK Polska Operations as a Financial Controller, where she was responsible for coordinating investment projects, managing their financial execution, working with banks, cash flows, taxes, and accounting matters.
Dorota moved across to Balmain Property Management from Balmain Asset Management where she previously was Asset manager for seven years for a retail portfolio of 17 schemes with investment volume of about EUR 130m. She was responsible for successful execution of asset management initiatives, including six re-development projects of the total value of ca EUR 7.9m and new development project of the value of EUR 25m. Since 2013 Dorota leads the property management and technical teams providing services for all shopping centers under management including property management, facility management, lease administration and credit control services. She was part of the successful set-up of property management business procedures and processes and team building and development. She managed the takeover of 4 shopping centres within the first 12 months from establishment, and an additional 7 since 2016.

Paulina joined Balmain Group from Atrium Real Estate where she created a new division focused on the re-positioning of existing shopping centers in the context of increased competition and changing requirements in this market segment. She has responsibility for all aspects of the marketing needs of properties including digital, events, creative lines, PR & communications, corporate needs and branding. Paulina has also carried out leasing roles in the past which gives a solid perspective to the strategies and needs of leasing activity, B2B, and B2C communications.
